Full Day Fly Fishing Trip

Our full-day float trips have become our most popular offerings. These excursions are ideal for anglers looking to fish East Idaho’s, Montana’s, and Yellowstone’s rivers. They not only provide a superb opportunity to locate fish and enjoy the scenic beauty of these areas, but they also serve as an excellent introduction for novice anglers to learn essential skills such as casting, mending, reading the water, and landing fish in a moving current. By allowing guides to cover more extensive stretches of water, float trips ensure that if one area isn’t yielding fish, there’s plenty more to explore. Experience the best of East Idaho, Montana and Yellowstone with our full-day float trips on the region’s finest and most productive rivers.

Not much more than a stone’s throw from our shop, the Henry’s Fork offers diversity unmatched by any other river with almost 80 miles of blue ribbon water. Four major tributaries include the Buffalo River, Warm River, Fall River and the Teton. To the north, less than an hour’s drive is the storied Madison River in Montana. The west gate to Yellowstone Park is 35 miles to the north while the Southeast corner of Yellowstone offers backcountry access to the park only available from the Idaho side. The South Fork of the Snake, a little more than an hour from our shop, is arguably the best tailwater fishery in the entire State of Idaho. Topped off with some of the best fly fishing lakes in the country it’s hard to comprehend more fly fishing opportunity. This great mid summer bargain sets you up with four days of fishing on our major four rivers including the Henry’s Fork, Madison, Teton and South Fork of the Snake.

Teton Canyon River Slide

One of our guiding options that is not for the faint of heart is the Teton River Slide. Just below the confluence with Bitch Creek, the Teton River punches through a deep gorge. Our guides use heavy duty Aire Super Puma rafts to handle the whitewater. The rafts must be slid down a very steep rocky trail for almost 1500 feet at a 50% grade. The deep canyon sports one of the finest cutthroat trout fisheries in the country. While the opportunity for an amazing fishing adventure is great, the risks are high. For that reason we require extra care is given to help get everybody to the river safely. Walking sticks are required to traverse the steep rocky canyon down to the river.
