Fly Shop

Henry’s Fork Anglers is Legendary. When you step into our shop, you’ll find a spacious log structure. You can expect to be welcomed by a friendly, helpful fly fishing professional. Our shop is known for its knowledgeable staff, who are experienced anglers themselves. You can expect to receive expert advice on local fishing conditions, fly selection, techniques and more. The interior is designed to cater to both novice and experienced anglers, with a wide array of flies, fly fishing gear, clothing, bags and more.

We’ve been serving the angling public for almost 50 years. We provide current fishing information not only about the Henry’s Fork, but also the Madison River, Yellowstone Park, and all the other great lakes, rivers and streams in our region, helping you stay informed about current hatches and up-to-date water conditions. Henry’s Fork Anglers is the only shop in the region to sell Idaho, Montana, and Yellowstone National Park fishing licenses.

We take pride in service. If you’re new at fly fishing, and you want to know where to go, flies and equipment you need, purchase a fishing license, or anything else, we’re eager to help. With our many years of experience we know and understand that it can be a bit intimidating for a novice to be surrounded by other customers, who are perceived as experts. We want to set your mind at ease. There are no stupid questions.

If you are an experienced angler, we know and understand the hatches and water conditions. Our flies, including nymphs, streamers, lake flies, and specific dry flies, including signature patterns designed by Mike Lawson and other famous fly tiers, are specific to our area. Technical fly fishing for selective trout is our game. In essence, an experienced angler can expect a challenging, but highly rewarding fly fishing experience in one of the world's premier trout fisheries. We have always been at the front of the line as a dealer for fly fishing companies like Sage, Simms, Rio Products, Fishpond, Columbia, Umpqua and others. You can check out our online store for more information on individual flies and other products.

Our shop is designed for service. When you walk up the steps you will see a detailed board with the latest fishing information. There is a large map of the area with all of the great waters within our service area. There are a couple of benches on the deck that you can use to change in and out of your waders, eat lunch, or just take a break. There is a spacious lawn designed for casting practice and trying out rods. There is plenty of parking space for guided anglers as well as retail customers in our expansive parking lot.

If you want to learn more about the aquatic insects in our area, you’ll want to check out our detailed hatch chart. There are 18 different, important, aquatic insects with photos and detailed information on locations, timing, and recommendations for fly patterns. We also have an inviting lounge area we call “The Liars Corner” with comfortable soft chairs and an attractive fireplace. It’s a great spot if you need to warm up after your time on the water.

If you need rental equipment, we have it. In the event that you had a mishap with your personal gear, you forgot something, or don’t have your own equipment, we have rod/line/reel and waders/shoes for rent.

Sale Items are always an attraction at most fly shops. We have a beautiful loft where we display angling photography and art, fly tying materials, and items on sale. This is a great option to find some great bargains on name brand items that have been discontinued.
