• If you could only take 6 flies to fish for trout anywhere in the world, what would they be? Here are 9 patterns that you should never be without. The Renegade is likely the most versitile pattern in the game. It can be fished dry or wet. The Parachute Adams can imitate almost any mayfly hatch and it is a great attractor. Terrestrial imitations are also a must. If you only had one it should likely be a beetle. In case you encounter a caddis hatch you'll need a versitile caddis pattern. It is hard to beat the EZ Caddis.We would never go on the water without a Wooly Bugger. It is equally effective in lakes and streams. You'll need some nymphs. The Pheasant Tail is a must have nymph. The Zebra Nymph has always been a guide favorite and the Tung Jig PMD is a great trout producer. The Chubby is a terrific stand alone attractor and it doubles as an indicator for a dry/dropper rig.
